Dear Shambhala Sun Camp Parents and Participants,

We are hoping to increase our camp numbers and share the experience of Sun Camp with more young people, so we are introducing an incentive discount. This year we will have a “bring a friend discount”.

Tell your friends about Sun Camp! If you introduce a friend to Sun Camp you will get 15% off your program price. It must be your friend’s first time at Sun Camp.

If you are introducing a friend, e-mail us at ddl@shambhalasuncamp.org with the details of who you are bringing and we can arrange your discounted payment after receiving application and payment from the friend.

This only applies for the Dorje Denma Ling Sun Camp in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia.

Colorado Sun Camp 2012 Update

Dear Sangha and Sun Camp Families:

As most of you know the High Park fire has been burning southeast of Shambhala Mountain Center for the past two weeks. Although, fortunately, SMC has thus far remained outside of the burn zone, the entire area is under pre-evacuation warning and enduring poor air quality. Current programming has been cancelled or moved off the land, and it is still uncertain which, if any, programs SMC will be able to host this summer.

The Sun Camp Leadership Group continues to get as much information as possible and is staying informed about day-to-day changes related to the fire and SMC. At this point we want to let you know that we are considering whether or not to hold camp at SMC this summer. In order to help facilitate alternate planning, any changes to our regular programming and schedule will be sent out as soon as possible. Currently we plan to make a decision early next week and will send out information about particulars then.

Welcome to the Brand New Sun Camp Site!

Cheerful Shambhala Day and welcome to Sun Camp’s new website! We’ve been working hard the last few months to create this new site, with the hope that it will be a bit more user friendly for campers and parents alike. Take a look around the site: you will find the links to apply, a Frequently Asked Questions page, a packing list and maps on how to get to camp from the local airport or major city. At the same time, we also hope that we can keep in closer touch through our newsletter, Flickr photo account and Facebook page. Be sure to sign up to our newsletter (we promise not to bombard your inboxes!) on the front page and help us keep this site lively by sending your photos and stories when camp is over. We can’t wait to see you all this summer!
